The Foundation Granted $4.5 Million in FY’22

Donors empower our community and our world to remain vibrant — today and forever. We are proud to steward their funds. Their support and partnership allowed us to award 1,142 grants totaling $4.5 million in FY’22. 

These grants provided over $3.3 million to local Jewish organizations, and $1 million to national Jewish organizations, as well as to local, national and international secular organizations.

We Invest Millions in Greater Hartford’s Vibrant Jewish Community

The Foundation’s grants to the local Jewish community includes over $1 million to the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. We invest in unique programs and services that might not be possible without the Foundation’s support.

We Granted Nearly $1 million for COVID Relief

When the pandemic hit, the Foundation and Jewish Federation established the Jewish Hartford Rapid Relief and Recovery Fund. With a corps of volunteers, we raised and granted  nearly $1 million from about 500 donors to provide our community with humanitarian and financial relief from COVID-19.  

Foundation Grant Aids Ukrainian Refugees 

Trustees issued a grant of $50,000 and earmarked an additional $25,000 to provide food, medication, temporary housing and other humanitarian needs to people escaping violence in war-torn Ukraine and neighboring countries. The grant was part of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford’s fundraising efforts for The Jewish Federations of North America’s emergency campaign. Photo credit World Central Kitchen/WCK.org
