Steve is a part of the third generation of a Jewish family that immigrated to Hartford from Eastern Europe in the early 1900’s. Debbie, the daughter of Holocaust survivors, moved to Greater Hartford in 1994.

We believe that the path to a meaningful life stems from helping immediate family, extended family and the community where we live. To us, tzedakah is more than charity. It is shared responsibility and hope. We show our commitment to the community by giving time and resources to the institutions that are important to us. Because of our family history, it felt natural to turn gratitude into something enduring. Leaving a legacy to the Jewish Community Foundation will ensure that the community in which we have deep roots will continue to flourish and help those in need.
