Thanks to a grant from the Foundation, educators at Beth El Temple in West Hartford participated in a transformational professional development initiative for the faculty at SULAM, the synagogue’s religious school. This opportunity allowed them to explore diverse education practices for Jewish students within a Jewish supplemental school environment.
As part of the program, participants engaged with Devash magazine, a publication from The Hadar Institute, to help students connect more deeply with the weekly Torah portion. They also explored unique educational models through a series of workshops.
“The LGBTQ+ workshop, led by professionals from Keshet, equipped our SULAM staff with valuable tools to ensure our learning environment is inclusive and welcoming,” said Dr. Eliyahu Krigel, Director of Education and Family Engagement at Beth El. “The AI workshop empowered us to work smarter, not harder, by teaching us how to integrate technology in meaningful ways.”
