Honor a Woman You Love, Help a Woman in Need
The Lillian Fund was established as a way for women to collectively help women in need and further the Jewish value of tikkun olam – repairing the world. The Fund is named for Lillian D. Wald, a Jewish woman who left a privileged life in order to champion the rights of Eastern European immigrants living on New York’s Lower East Side at the turn of the twentieth century.
During the year, Lillian Fund members learn firsthand about social, economic and health challenges facing women in our community and in Israel. Members are given the opportunity to vote on potential projects and, once grants are made, are advised of the progress of the project that was funded.
We invite you to join the hundreds of special women in our community who have stepped forward to help improve the lives of women and families through the Lillian Fund. With a gift of $100 or more, you or the woman you choose to honor may vote on the Lillian Fund project. You can mark special occasions in the life of a loved one through a gift to the Lillian Fund. Many have chosen to do so for Mother's Day, Hanukkah, bat mitzvahs, birthdays, and other simchas. The Lillian Wald Society recognizes donors who have made cumulative gifts of $5,000 and more to the Fund with a special pin.
