Donors with strong ties to a particular organization or institution may want to establish a designated fund for its benefit. A designated fund may help a day school, a human service organization, a health care or housing facility for the elderly or any other organization during and beyond the donor’s lifetime. Distributions in the fund’s name will be sent to the named charity each year. If the beneficiary organization ceases to exist, loses its tax-exempt status or substantially alters its mission, the Jewish Community Foundation will seek out another organization whose charitable purposes closely match your original intentions and redirect support there.

Designated funds can also support an area of need you want to address, such as the arts, children and families or the elderly.  The Foundation will regularly identify appropriate grantees within the fields of need you specify.  Scholarship funds fall within the category of designated funds at the Foundation.
