Tools for your philanthropy

We offer an array of tools and resources to help personalize your giving.

  • Create a vision for your philanthropy using our questionnaire.
  • Identify your values.
The more your giving is aligned with your values, the more fulfilling and strategic your philanthropy can be. Which of the following values motivate your philanthropic decisions:

Belonging, community, compassion, competence, courage, equality, family, freedom, friendship, helping, innovation, integrity, justice, leadership, loyalty, obligation, opportunity, personal growth, pleasure, power, recognition, responsibility, risk, spiritual growth, tolerance, and tradition?

You can use Motivational Values Cards, to prioritize those values that most motivate your own philanthropic decisions and to catalyze discussions across generations.  They were developed by 21/64, a division of the Andrea & Charles Bronfman Philanthropies and can be purchased at www.2164.net.
  • Create a Giving Plan.
Use Giving with Goals, a  short, easy-to-use workbook developed by The Seattle Foundation, to identify your values, create a giving plan, evaluate nonprofits and involve your family. It Includes exercises and ideas for putting your plan into action.
